Do you have experience in public finance, risk and governance? The West London Waste Authority (WLWA) is seeking a skilled and dynamic individual to join our Audit Committee as an Independent Member. 

About the Role: 

  • Position: Independent Member of the Audit Committee 
  • Salary: £750 per meeting 
  • Commitment: Two meetings annually, plus preparation time 
  • Term: Three-year term 

As a key player in our team, you will: 

  • Support the Audit Committee in ensuring robust governance, financial reporting, and risk management across the Authority. 
  • Provide independent challenge and scrutiny to enhance our internal controls and financial statements. 
  • Promote effective governance and risk management practices. 
  • Contribute to the strategic oversight and accountability of the Authority's operations. 

What We're Looking For: 

  • Have significant experience within an audit and risk management background 
  • Have a thorough understanding of financial management 
  • Be able to provide professional advice, support and scrutinise 
  • Be inquisitive, open-minded and non-judgmental with the ability to analyse information and ask questions effectively.
