Job Title: Nursery Practitioner

 Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

They should have a genuine love for working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

This role requires creativity, patience, and a commitment to promoting the holistic development of each child.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow.
  2. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to support children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  3. Observe and assess children's progress, keeping accurate records of their development and any concerns.
  4. Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open communication and collaboration.
  5. Support children's personal hygiene routines, including diapering/toileting, handwashing, and feeding.
  6. Promote positive behavior management techniques, fostering a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
  7. Ensure that the nursery environment is clean, organized, and conducive to learning and play.
  8. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including maintaining ratios, conducting risk assessments, and implementing emergency procedures.
  9. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  10. Act as a key worker for a designated group of children, providing individualized care and support as needed.

Requirements:

  1. Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Diploma in Childcare and Education).
  2. Previous experience working with children aged 0-5 years in a nursery or early years setting.
  3. Sound knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English.
  6. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, demonstrating initiative and flexibility.
  7. Positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  8. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, following safeguarding policies and procedures.
  9. Basic understanding of health and safety regulations and willingness to undergo relevant training.
  10. Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
  2. Safeguarding and Child Protection Training.
  3. Additional training in areas such as SEN (Special Educational Needs), behavior management, or language development.
  4. Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Working Hours:Full Time / Part Time Available
