Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to work at Lander Medical Practice where we are expanding our team of MSK Physiotherapists. The role is to cover for hours per week, however this could be for one clinican or as a job share. The working pattern is to be organised depending on hours. The Lander Medical practice provides a fully integrated in house personalised physiotherapy service. Referrals are presently from GPs and some agreed practice staff,midwives and PCN employed clinicians. People presenting with MSK conditions are given a comprehensiveassessment and their needs, involving share decision making to develop a personalised physiotherapy plan. We support self management and integrated management pathways forthe holistic health of our population. Timing, intensity, frequency, location and mode of delivery of physiotherapy is personalised and flexible to the persons individual needs as service provision allows. The post holder will work as an integral part of the practiceresponding to the needs of people presenting with MSK conditions with Non AQP and AQP neck and back referrals.
Collaboratively managing the day today running of the department and optimising the developmentour MSK physiotherapy services with the current MSKphysiotherapy service standards
Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard of musculoskeletal physiotherapy to patients referred as an autonomous practitioner. The post holder will be responsible for their own caseload providing advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, planning treatment goals with shared decision making and appropriate discharge from the service adapting practice to suit the needs of the patients many of whom may have acute, complex and/or chronic presentations. To collaborate and support other staff working in this area with assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients. To support the operational aspects of the musculoskeletal physiotherapy service. Experience at post graduate level with a wide range of Musculoskeletal specialties. Experience of managing and developing staffAble to apply frequent moderate effort for short periods of time in the treatment of patients and use of manual techniques Able to apply concentration for prolonged periods of time during patient assessment and treatment and manage occasional distressing or emotional circumstances or impart unwelcome news regarding rehabilitation prospects
About us
We are a very busy GP practice with 8 GP partners and 3 salaried GPs, with a patient list size of 20,500 patients, covering two sites. Our Physiotherapy team consists of 3 or 4 Physiotherapists with dedicated administrative support. We work closely with our neighbouring practice within the building as a PCN and have ARRS roles working with us including a Clinical Pharmacists and Paramedics. The Physiotherapy team work closely together within the Truro Health Park with a physiotherapy treatment room and shared gymnasium. We may provide clinics at our satellite surgery at Threemilestone as our service expands.

Job responsibilities
To assess patients, design and implement appropriate treatment regimes for patients in accordance with clinical guidelines and professional codes of conduct as defined by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with all patients. To be responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient treatment records in line with the CSP standards of practice. To perform highly specialised comprehensive physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations, complex physical and psychological conditions and multi-pathologies using clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition. This may include interpretation and analysis of clinical and non-clinical information and investigations. Formulate and deliver high specialised individual treatment programmes based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options manual physiotherapy techniques, patient education, exercise classes and other alternative options. Formulate accurate prognoses and recommend best course of intervention, developing comprehensive discharge plans, liaising with GPs, consultants and more senior colleagues as appropriate.
