We are looking for someone that is not just an exceptional journalist but someone who is confident and articulate. You will be responsible for co-ordinating political coverage across all platforms and will be a trusted source of analysis and advice for our CEO.

You'll be adept at capturing the interest of those who don't follow politics as well as those who do.

We are looking to our Journalist to put our CEO’s ideas and concepts into words that allow him to voice his political opinions.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across a range of our different platforms – social media and online.

You will be expected to explain complex political stories in a creative and engaging manner, while also uncovering original stories.

You will have experience in a newsroom environment, strong writing skills, an excellent voice, creativity in abundance and a real appreciation of what makes compelling content for different platforms. A track record of delivering creative and engaging online stories and also video content is desirable.

You will be well organised, a team player and work with a sense of urgency. In addition, you will need a good understanding of the audiences for all services and of the political issues in the island. You'll have an enquiring mind, sound editorial judgement and a desire to break exclusive stories.

Responsibilities include script, storyboarding and proposal writing, prepare and execute tailored presentations and interviews. Research angles, develop concepts and ideas plan, preparing and undertake Interviews with our CEO.

Develop and update social media platforms, great written and verbal communication skills, confident speaking on the telephone, high level of initiative, excellent organisational skills and a good team player.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in politics, whilst previous experience in a political journalism environment is preferred.

Requirements

A degree in Politics Excellent written and verbal communication. Experience of using content management systems. Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Job Types: Full-time, Freelance

Salary: £12.00 per hour
