Exciting Opportunity for a Buyer/Expeditor

As a Buyer/Expeditor, you will expedite critical components for HCO New Build projects to ensure supplier On Time Delivery. You'll expedite internal functions to ensure that the required information is made available to suppliers to enable them to execute orders. Also, place Purchase Orders where required and carry out Negotiation with suppliers. Develop and manage relationships with manufacturers, suppliers & sub-contractors and Develop Project procurement reporting mechanisms to support OTD and P&L results.

What Needs To Be Done?

After PO confirmation, install a weekly planning with the supplier detailing each production step for all items over 6 weeks delivery including critical documentation submissions/approvals

Expedite daily, all critical suppliers and maintain our ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics – AX) in order to ensure good and services are delivered on time.

Champion data integrity within AX and drive for accurate PO values and dates. Work on weekly missing parts to update the status of AX and pro-actively escalate on potential delay.

Identify risks of supplier lateness/slippage and utilize this in the escalation for physical expediting visits.

Oversee the resolution of risks, issues and discrepancies and report remedial action to reduce occurrence of risk.

Resolve supply chain delivery issues by maintaining effective lines of communication with suppliers and coordinate improvement projects to improve the on time delivery.

Will be required to carry out expediting visits from time to time as and when required for project requirements.

Relevant experience in sourcing

Pragmatic, no-nonsense approach

Sets personal deliverables and works to high standards

Enjoys difficult challenges, finding solutions not problems

Advanced competency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Project & Power Point

Proven experience of managing complex purchases

Experience in Supply chain and Supplier performance management

Excellent at influencing and persuading people to a desired outcome

Excellent data management skills
