North American Construction Services, Ltd. is hiring a permanent, full-time Ironworker to join our team in Pinson/Birmingham, AL.

At Fives, we all have a part to play in achieving our common mission. Your role will be to:

Read specifications and blueprints to determine the materials' locations, quantities, and sizes required Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place using cranes, hand signals, and tag lines Pulls pushes, or pries steel members into approximate positions while the hoisting device supports the member Forces members into final position, using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools Aligns bolt holes in steel members using drift pins or spud wrenches Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of members using plumb bob and level Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts following blueprints using various bolts, nuts, washers, and torquing or welding Cuts and welds steel members to make alterations using oxyacetylene welding equipment and supplies Compare and see differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects

If this is you, come join us

Must have experience in blueprint reading, layout, and use of shop tools - oxy/acetylene torch, hand tools, drill press, saw, etc. Experience installing and refurbishing combustion furnaces Current weld certification OSHA 10-hour certified  Work experience in the aluminum, steel, forging, ductile iron, petrochemical, co-gen, foundry, or automotive industries
