Our vision is to leverage the incredible potential of technology to build vehicles that not only offer a premium, all-encompassing digital experience, but that also make our customers lives better.

What to expect

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to be an active member of the JLR Base Engines “Design and Release” team for all Gasoline and Diesel internal combustion engines, designed in the UK for global manufacture into worldwide markets.

The Product Owner is responsible for maximising the value delivered by a squad of component engineers by managing and prioritizing the team’s backlog, connecting with internal customers, supporting the team and contributing to the vision and roadmap. The role also includes some lead engineering responsibilities, where you will lead a cross functional team (design, analysis, manufacturing, validation, purchasing and suppliers) delivering all engineering, design, verification and launch activities for a number of components/systems. Some of the components delivered by the Sensors and Actuators squad include electronic throttles/valves, solenoids, temperature / pressure / position sensors and ignition system (coils and spark plugs).

Delivering on plan with clear direction, demonstrating a clear appreciation of attributes and programme deliverables on quality, cost, weight, and function are critical aspects of the role.

What you'll need

In this exciting yet challenging position, you will own the vision for the scope and determine priorities to be delivered by the squad. You will manage product development processes and deliver according to component creation and delivery system (CCDS). You will lead and coordinate cross functional CCDS team including purchasing, design, validation, STA, supplier and manufacturing to ensure all APQP deliverables are fulfilled with agreed status by the CCDS team. You will lead the delivery to the program gateways by achieving quality, cost, timing, function and weight requirements.

Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Manage and coordinate validation of system/component in accordance with technical compliance plan, manage and own failure mode avoidance including the foundation documents such as DFMEA, Qulity History report, P-Diagram as well as Prevent Recurrence actions.
