Our clinical Cancer team is expanding, we need you
As a result of service expansion, we are seeking self-motivated, patient and service focused individuals to support and enhance our existing Clinical Cancer Pharmacy team.
We are looking for an individual with excellent organisational and communication skills as there will be a requirement to talk to patients and other healthcare professionals.
Duties will include reception work, dispensing prescriptions, stock management and some housekeeping duties. The successful candidate will need to help co-ordinate efficient and timely service delivery to day case patients on the Shooting Star Unit and to outpatient clinics.
Previous experience of working in this type of environment and in particular good IT skills would be an advantage. We especially welcome applications from individuals who are already able to dispense, though this is not essential, as appropriate training will be provided locally.
Candidates should be willing to work towards an NVQ level in Pharmacy Services Skills, unless already attained. For this reason applicants must have GCSE grade C or equivalent in Mathematics and English language.
We aim to facilitate flexible working as our pharmacy department is open every day of the year; our rota's include weekends, bank holidays and late duties.
Main duties of the job To assemble and dispense in-patient, outpatient and take home medication and to process controlled drug requisitions, following standard dispensary operating procedures. All assembling and dispensing work is checked. To participate in the ward based medicines management service, assessing patients own medicines, and organising supplies. To support the Pharmacy Logistics Service in providing safe, effective and efficient pharmacy purchasing and distribution services. To work within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and be guided by professional good practice guidelines. To work as part of a team and also work independently, using own initiative to deal with routine enquiries availability and supply of medicines to wards, or patients, referring to the Pharmacy Technician or a Pharmacist if necessary.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
