Job summary

Mental Health Support Teams inSchools in H & W is expanding further. Due to expansion an excitingopportunity has arisen within the Herefordshire Locality for a trainee.

Known as Wellbeing &Emotional Support Teams (WEST), service is across H & W schools to provideearly help for CYP ages 5 - 18 experiencing MH problems

We offer evidence-based lowintensity CBT interventions for CYP, whole school approach & consultationsin schools

We are supportive, share knowledge,learn from our experiences, have attractive training packages, making the workplace a good place to be

Service is Mon - Fri 9 - 5,multi professional working

Successful candidate willundertake a hybrid CWP Training course at University of Northampton , Course commencingmid- January 2025, Initial contract is fixed term 2 years at band 4, oncequalified andregistered with the accredited governing body a permanent contract to a band 5will take place.

You MUST be a car driver forthis post.

Main duties of the job

Be educationallysupervised, assess & deliver outcome focused, evidence-based interventionsin educational settings for CYP

Developing skills insupporting CYP with mild to moderate MH difficulties, parents/carers, &educators in the self-management of presenting difficulties

Where appropriateparents/carers to collaborate & coproduce their own agreed plan of care

Undertake accurateassessments of risk to self & others

Engage & learnfrom aligned education setting/MH Links

Engage in robustmanagerial & clinical supervision & agree CYP cases

Practice, evidence,reflect on & demonstrate an ability to manage ones own caseload

Attend multi-professionalmeetings

Keep coherent recordsof all training & clinical activity in line with both health and educationservice protocols and use these records & outcome data to inform decisionmaking, provide data collection

Evidence of workingwithin a collaborative approach, with teachers, parents, CYP, wider community

Development ofclinical/training materials

Under supervision & with support, develop knowledge &practice skills in:

Delivering evidence-based intervention for CYP in educationsetting with mild to moderate MH problems

Helping CYP within these settings rapidly access morespecialist services if required

Supporting& facilitating staff in education settings toidentify & where appropriate manage issues related to MH & wellbeing

Working with and within education environments to affordbetter access to specialist MH services

To evidence development of those skills with associatedknowledge acquisition to record and evidence progression towards an academicaward and demonstrable practical ability.
