If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you Step Teachers are currently seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Thetford, Norfolk. This is a full-time temporary role to start in September 2024.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Role:

  • Providing one-on-one or small group assistance to students during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Adapting and modifying instructional materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress and providing feedback to the teaching team.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters independence, social interaction, and emotional growth.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in special education settings, preferably at Reception Level.
  • A strong understanding of various disabilities including learning difficulties and the ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitude when faced with challenges.
  • Relevant certifications or training in special education or related fields are highly desirable.
