As Senior AI Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in scaling the impact of AI at Abcam. If you are an enthusiastic AI Engineer with a deep understanding of AI technologies and algorithms, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of what technology can achieve, we are excited to receive your application.   

In this role you will:  

  • Work in the Data Science and AI team at the forefront of innovation in life sciences. 

  • Develop, deploy and operate scalable AI applications. 

  • Innovate and enhance Abcam’s AI Tech Stack, including MLOps, GitLab CI pipelines, Abcam’s AI Python library, UI or application back/frontends. 

  • Implement and promote best practices for code quality, standardisation, documentation and software development lifecycle.  

  • Improve the technical quality and reliability of AI solutions through rigorous testing and validation.  

  • Implement frameworks for scalable data ingestion by AI applications. 

  • Feature engineer data for performance and efficiency optimisation of AI Applications. 

  • Collaborate closely with our TechOps, Data Engineering, Architecture and Cyber Security teams for seamless technology integration.  

  • Work with our Data Governance and Data Management teams on data requirements. 

  • Stay updated on the latest developments in next-generation technologies and emerging MLOps frameworks to ensure the use of the right tools.

  


Qualifications

Qualifications 

We would love to hear from individuals with  :

  • Expert programming skills in Python.  

  • In-depth knowledge of how to apply AI frameworks and models.  

  • Proven experience in the technical development, deployment and operation of AI solutions. 

  • Understanding of AI models.  

  • Experience with SQL, GitLab, GitCI, JavaScript, MLflow, Airflow, Jira.  

  • Experience with cloud and AI services from AWS, GCP and Azure.  

  • Experience with automated ML frameworks and UI development.  

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, Spark, TensorFlow, PyTorch.  

  • Familiarity with configuring GitLab CI pipelines.  

  • Familiarity with data structures, data platforms and data integration.  

  • Attention to detail and highest coding and documentation standards. 

 And we are particularly keen if you also have: 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to partners. 

  • Familiarity with software security concepts.
