The Opportunity:

Are you our next Engineering Technician. We are looking for someone who can help us redefine what's possible for are our Information Technology team.

What's the role?

Gatwick Airport is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and skilled technician to join the Shuttle Engineering team, focused on delivering the highest maintenance standards and customer experience.

Working as part of a team on a 24/7 shift roster, they will be responsible for carrying out corrective and preventative maintenance work associated with the various systems and assets relating to the Shuttle Engineering department. In a fast paced, thriving and challenging environment where innovation is encouraged, this is an exciting and rare opportunity.

What you'll be doing?

Undertake planned preventative/reactive/corrective maintenance, mindful of asset performance and operational requirements. Feedback requirements, or carry out work, required to repair out-of-service assets or improve poor performing ones. Undertake tasks requiring in-depth technical competence in electrical/mechanical/control system engineering or other tasks falling within other engineering disciplines which you have skills for or have been trained in. Use GAL I.T. – Work Management Systems (e.g., Ultimo) as required. Receive & close work orders, enter data accurately and use system data to drive individual and asset performance. Ensure all engineering and operational records are updated to meet business, regulatory and manufacturer requirements.

Do you have what we're looking for?

Advanced modern apprenticeship (Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic) or equivalent. Core skill/bias of Electrical/Mechanical Engineering to at least ONC level (Level 3.) Experience and knowledge of APM, rolling stock or HGV maintenance is preferable but not essential. Technical experience in a maintenance environment. Ability to understand and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic drawings. Full UK driving licence (required)
