We are looking for a Receptionist to join our dynamic and friendly team. In this high achieving practice. We based at Edgware

This role is for part time role

You will be the first point of contact for patients, contractors, and visitors as well as carrying out general office tasks

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the general reception duties within the Practice and work with our established processes, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service and deal efficiently and courteously with patient enquiries.

You will receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

You will provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

You will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate and friendly nature who can operate in a busy environment with a range of people and professions, as you will be working with our clinical and administration teams.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised and an effective communicator who can provide a professional and warm welcome to our patients, ensuring every contact is of the highest quality.

About us

Our team of 4 is made single handed practice and 4 locum GP one practice nurse We have a list size of 4200 patients . We continually develop all our team. If you are looking for part time work in an exciting reception role this could be the perfect position for you.

Job responsibilities

The main duties of the role are: Arrange appointments either face to face or via the telephoneSupport clinical team working in the practiceBe the first point of contact for patientsDealing with patient enquiries both by telephone or face to faceProviding patients/pharmacists repeat prescriptionsMonitor duty appointments and push doctorAdministration Dealing with patient tasks from Doctors in a pro-active mannerEntering details onto the patient computer medical recordsProducing summary printouts and printed documentation as required by community staff, secondary care and the patientGenerating repeat prescriptionsRegistering temporary and regular patients on to the computer systemGeneral Duties locking doors, security alarms where relevant. Complying with Data protection and smartcard securityEnsure confidentiality at all timesInfection control, ensuring reception is compliantComply and familarise yourself with the practice's policies and proceduresCarry out any reasonable request by doctors and managers

Qualifications

Essential

GCSE Grade A to C or equivalent in English

Desirable

experience of working in a GP Surgery desirable but not essential as full training will be given knowledge of Emis web prefer however not necessary we can provide training
