Pastoral Care Chaplains are expected to meet the spiritual, religious and pastoral needs of patients, carers and staff within BCU in accordance with the Spiritual Care Standards (WAG ). Chaplains are regarded as an integral part of the therapeutic teams with direct access to patients and confidential patient information in liaison other BCU staff. In addition to regular patient contact during working hours, a hour on call system operates and Chaplains are regularly called out to patients during unsocial hours. Chaplains are expected to work as a Chaplaincy Team, including Chaplaincy volunteers, across hospital and community based services to deliver or facilitate a range of Multi Faith Chaplaincy services and to advise CPGs and Locality Teams on the development of Spiritual Care services.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is expected to be an autonomous, qualified practitioner whose role is to seek out and respond to the spiritual and religious needs of individuals, their carers and staff across the range of service providers, including hospitals, Localities and community based care for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCU).
