Job summary

This job is the perfect job for someone who is looking to start their career into supervisory and management. You will be given the full support and training to enable you to climb the career ladder.

The role of Facilities Services Team Leader plays a key part of our patient experience. The successful candidate willwork with our other Team Leaders and will be jointly responsible for the supervision of around 80 of our cleaning and portering staff.

Our Team Leaders are required to support in cleaning and portering tasks in times of low staffing or increased demand. They are also responsible for receiving and delivering cleaning materials to wards and departments and therefore candidates for this post are required to be physically fit.

Core Working Hours

Zone 5&6, Team Leader, 35 hours, working a combination of 2 differing shift patterns - , 5 days in 7, including bank holidays & weekends.

Within your contracted hours of work, you may be required to support in covering for other Facilities Team Leaders from time to time, dependant on service requirements.

Enhancements for night time, bank holiday and weekend work are offered as a part of this role.

To be considered for this role, it would be advantageous if you have worked in a busy NHS setting or have experience in a cleaning or portering. Our preferred candidate would have some previous experience in team leading or supervising staff. A full job description and person specification is attached

To be successful, candidates need to be able to demonstrate that they;

Have experience of working with computer systems; to include Microsoft Office, different IT packages and web based systems. Have experience of working with a diverse range of staff. Understand sickness absence management. Have a good understanding of Customer Care. Have effective communication skills. Are able to undertake duties without supervision

Knowledge of cleaning, deep cleaning and portering services Experience of working with computer systems to include Microsoft Office and the use of IT packages and web based systems Experience of being able to work unsupervised following work plans

Desirable

Previous experience in a similar post providing cleaning and portering services in a Healthcare Environment Experience of National and NHS legislation and guidance relating to cleaning standards and/or Food Hygiene Regulations

Qualifications

Essential

Numerate and Literate equivalent to GCSE level or equivalent or relevant experience An ability to undertake future training

Desirable

Computer systems qualification - NVQ /EDL (European Driving Licence) Food Hygiene Qualification NVQ/BICS - Cleaning NVQ/ILM - 2/3 Team leading
