Salary:  Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC) £22,383 pro rata, per annum + enhancements including a signing-on  lump sum bonus of £1,000  (pro-rated in line with contracted hours), plus a  retention bonus of 10% of your basic salary  until 30th September 2025 paid monthly after completing 8 weeks in post and induction training.

Hours/Contract:  Part time – up to 33.75 hours per week or As and When (Nights)

Based:  North Yorkshire – covering an area of up to 25 miles around Ripon, Bedale and Thirsk

As a Healthcare Assistant working nights with our community-based team in North Yorkshire covering Ripon, Bedale and Thirsk, you'll be supporting patients and families in their time of greatest need. We provide free specialist palliative care and support to patients with life limiting illness whilst offering vital emotional support for their families.

What we are looking for

Be a UK licensed driver with access to a car and business insurance is essential Relevant community experience  S/NVQ Level 2 qualification or an equivalent certificate/diploma is required  Emotional strength and the ability to work on your own are crucial, though we will of course provide excellent on-going training and support  Recent experience of providing care and caring for people with life limiting illness or palliative care needs

With experience of End of Life care, you're ready and able to make a real difference. Working without close supervision, you'll have the opportunity to use your own initiative in line with the patient's established care plan. You'll be required to carry out a range of care duties including helping patients meet their hygiene needs, monitoring symptoms, assisting with medications and keeping detailed records and emotional support to the patient and their families.
