London, United Kingdom Trustwide Full time

Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Urology Cancer CNS team. You will join a team of band 6 and 7 CNSs and a CSW overseen by an 8a lead CNS who specialise in urology cancer.

We are seeking an experienced cancer nurse with advanced communication and leadership skills to specialise in urology cancer, with a sub-speciality of prostate cancer. You will have an excellent understanding of patient experience and support, and the ability to deliver high quality care.

The ideal candidate will have oncology or surgical experience within urology cancer, with demonstratable prostate knowledge and have previously worked as a clinical nurse specialist. However we would consider motivated and experienced nurses without CNS experience, or CNSs within another speciality who are keen to develop.

·CNSs perform specialist holistic assessment and treatment using a personalised approach. This is characterised by a level of decision making based on detailed knowledge and understanding of their area of practice.

·As part of the multidisciplinary team CNSs can work in or across many settings, depending on their area of expertise and scope of practice.
