We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Assistant Psychologist who has excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working with people. A commitment to clinical excellence is vital, and we welcome candidates who have the potential to develop, who can work confidently under supervision, can follow direction, have the ability to work in teams, and are adaptable and responsive to the needs of the service they are working in. This is an excellent opportunity to develop professionally within committed and supportive adult mental health services, and play an important role in supporting increasing access to psychological therapies in North Wales. This post will be based in the Central region.

Main duties of the job

Under supervision, the post-holders will learn and support psychological therapies developments in line with the stepped care model (Matrics Cymru), specifically supporting qualified mental health staff providing input to people who have mild to moderate mental health problems. The posts will be attached to qualified clinical psychologists, who will provide supervision and clinical oversight. Knowledge and experience of CBT approaches and group work would be helpful, and there will also be opportunities to learn skills within the posts. The posts will also involve supporting service evaluations, audits, and projects. You will be expected to contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
