Autism Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable Teaching Assistants (TAs) to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in schools based in Sunderland and the surrounding areas. We are looking for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the educational experiences and outcomes of children with autism.
According to the National Autistic Society, over 700,000 people in the UK are on the autism spectrum. This highlights the significant need for specialized support within schools to help children with autism thrive academically and socially.

The ideal candidate will have:- Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- The ability to work well within a team
- A patient and understanding approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to start as soon as possible
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with autism
- Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Supporting pupils to achieve their educational and developmental targets
- Assisting in the development and delivery of engaging activities
- Working collaboratively with class teachers and SEN coordinators
- Availability for at least 3 days per week

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
