Description

The Manufacturing Engineer must be hands-on and work to improve safety, efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the highest level of quality within the TruStile manufacturing facility. This position drives initiatives for continuous improvement and implements lean manufacturing methodologies, enhancing the overall performance of the facility. 

Highlights of the role: 

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for understanding objectives and developing a plan to meet them. This position is responsible for executing the following: 

Evaluate manufacturing processes utilizing lean manufacturing techniques to identify waste. Partner with and collaborate with maintenance and production personnel to derive best workflow solutions. Become a subject matter expert on new production equipment and create detailed work instructions to train operators, supervisors, and maintenance.  Develop waste reduction plans and provide ROI justifications for improvement projects.  Utilize 5S principles to organize product workflows and workstation set-ups.  Create standard work for critical processes that incorporate maintenance schedules to ensure process reliability. Establish consistent work procedures across all shifts based on the best practices to ensure predictable outcomes. Provide consistent and ongoing support to production to create a culture of continuous improvement related to safety, quality and efficiency. Track and audit the results of improvement projects. Requirements  Industrial or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. Equivalent education and experience as a Manufacturing Engineer would be considered  Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment, with responsibility for project scope, timeline, and budge· Ability to perform root cause analysis and lead corrective change initiatives. ·Demonstrated hands-on expertise or formal training in lean manufacturing. ·Strong written and verbal communication skills.   Possess strong critical thinking skills with the ability to create tools for data collection. MS Forms, Power BI and/or MS Excel  Experience working with CNC controls is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

 The work environment is indoors in a typical office setting. The noise level in the work (factory) environment is usually 

moderate.
