Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated individual to apply for the post of Endpoint Configuration Specialist.

You will need to be forward looking and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a calm positive attitude along with good organisational and documentation skills. It is important that the post holder can multi-task and work under pressure as well as deal with any emergency situations which may arise.

Main duties of the job

The configuration, operating, maintaining, and repairing corporate endpoint hardware, including Desktops, Laptops, Tablets and Mobile Phones and software, operating system and patches on those devices using the Trusts remote configuration management tools in the absence of the other Principal Technician. Managing the Trusts endpoint configuration management tools, including upgrading and patching of devices. Maintaining a high level of technical expertise and awareness to diagnose endpoint technical issues and ensure others on the team do also. Knowledge and understanding of infrastructure configurations. Examples, but not limited to physical and virtual servers and cloud services such as AWS. Acquiring a proper understanding of a problem or situation by breaking it down systematically into its component parts and identifying the relationships between these parts. Selecting the appropriate method/tool to resolve the problem and reflecting critically on the result, so that what is learnt is identified and assimilated. Testing techniques used to plan and execute software tests of all application components (functional and non-functional) to verify that the software satisfies specified requirements and to detect errors.

The successful applicant will be educated to BTEC level in a technical discipline, MCSE or A+ in (Hardware or Networking) or CompTIA A+ or N+, MSDT or equivalent through. They will also be expected to have an ITIL Foundation Certification.

Reporting to the Technical Support Manager you will also need:

To document all IT systems in area of responsibility, past and present. To support and contribute to technical projects. Strong technical knowledge to the level of 3rdline desktop support. To manage digital assets, assisting the technical team with complex issues To acquire a proper understanding of a problem or situation by breaking it down To identify gaps in the available information required to understand a problem or situation and devising a means of resolving them. Applying specific quality standards to all tasks undertaken to ensure that deliverables are accurate and complete. To meet targets, acting and/or fulfilling agreements even when adverse circumstances prevail. Asset Management knowledge in managing the Trust assets in the database system. To support and contribute to technical projects.

It is essential that they have a full and current UK driving license (Manual).

Essential

Technical Qualifications at BTEC level . MCSE or A+ in (Hardware or Networking) ITIL Foundation certification UK Driving License Evidence of continuing professional and personal development

Educated to degree level in a computing/engineering/technical discipline or an equivalent level of knowledge and expertise PRINCE2 foundation qualification in project management or equivalent demonstrable project management experience

Experience of working in a technical support role and proven experience in the development and support of IT systems Extensive knowledge of Server technologies -including: Windows Server, System Centre Operations Manager, System Centre Configuration Manager, Intune, Solarwinds products, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience Extensive knowledge of mainstream ICT hardware and software

Experience of working in a patient environment Experience of working in the NHS
