Children and Young Persons IPA (21 hours per week)

Vetro Housing is working on behalf of a fantastic employer who is looking for an empathetic and dynamic individual to join a growing team. You will be supporting a new project aimed at children and young people who have witnessed domestic abuse, or sexual violence or who are at risk of abusive relationships. You will provide 1-2-1 support and group support to raise awareness, increase safety and well-being, and reduce the threats of homelessness. There is a need to work flexibly between the hours of 9AM and 7PM, this is a temporary post fixed until March 2025 subject to funding.

This position is open to women only under the Equality Act 2010 pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1. It is also subject to an Enhanced DBS check.



Salary: £24,800 FTE

Duties:

  • Identify and listen to young people and children who are at risk
  • Carry out assessments to share with the relevant support network
  • Support families and promote healthy relationships to protect the welfare of the children and young people
  • Create accurate and detailed reports ensuring the CRM is kept up to date
  • Signpost and support women and their families to various agencies, e.g. social services, the police, DWP, homelessness, education, housing, and cultural services
  • Promote the service
  • Always maintain confidentiality
  • Assist with recruitment
  • Participate in team meetings and the overall development of the service



Criteria:

  • Driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential
  • Experience of working with children and young people who have experienced trauma
  • Experience in engaging with external agencies
  • Excellent IT and communication skills
  • A knowledge and understanding of child and young person protection issues
  • Ability to provide practical and emotional support
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in the relevant field
