SENIOR NEUROLOGIST POSITION: DIPLOMATE ECVN / DipACVIM (Neurology) or RESIDENCY-TRAINED NEUROLOGIST

An exciting opportunity has been created at Dovecote Veterinary Referrals for a Senior Neurologist.

Dovecote is a busy, progressive, growing, multi‐disciplinary, referral‐hospital in the Midlands. Besides neurology, our hospital disciplines include Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue Surgery, Oncology, Dermatology and Ophthalmology. The hospital is located in Castle Donington – a picturesque market town in the heart of the Midlands, 10 minutes from East Midlands international airport, 30 minutes from the Peak District and 20 minutes from both Nottingham and Derby. We are also a clinical associate practice for University of Nottingham Veterinary School.

The neurology/neurosurgery team includes three ECVN Diplomates, one ECVN board-eligible and one resident. We provide a supportive environment with active case discussion, besides having a very stimulating and varied caseload with plenty of opportunities of developing personal interests in medical neurology, neurosurgery and neuroimaging. Clinicians are also be involved in the clinical teaching of final year veterinary students from the University of Nottingham, during their Neurology rotation.

We have a strong surgical caseload and alongside it, clinical research is also encouraged. Dovecote Veterinary Referrals is an important hub of neurological clinical research, arising from within the private referral sector in the UK. Dovecote Veterinary Referrals is part of the CVS Referrals network, so you will be joining a large network of multiple specialists across our seven UK referral locations with some of the best-known names in UK veterinary neurology.

The successful candidate should preferably have completed the Diploma examination for admission to the European College of Veterinary Neurology or ACVIM (neurology) or have completed an ECVN or ACVIM (neurology) residency.

Excellent team working, communication skills and a good sense of humour are essential in our close-knit team.
