Are you an organised and detail-oriented individual looking for a rewarding role within a supportive and inclusive working environment? West Berkshire Council is seeking an Assistant Registrar to join our Registration Service and contribute to the delivery of high-quality registration services.

As the Assistant Registrar, you will play a vital role in supporting the Registration Manager-Spr.Int. Registrar in the efficient and effective administration of the registration service. Your key responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the registration of births, deaths, marriages, and civil partnerships Providing excellent customer service to members of the public, offering guidance and advice on registration processes Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with legal requirements Conducting marriage and civil partnership ceremonies as required Assisting with the coordination of citizenship ceremonies

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and attributes:

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in record-keeping and data entry Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact confidently with individuals from diverse backgrounds A professional and empathetic approach when dealing with sensitive and confidential information Proficiency in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications
