The role of the Obstetric Electric Administratoris to provide comprehensive, high quality administrative, clerical and reception support for the midwifery service at King’s College Hospital.
Main duties of the job
To maintain the OBSEC email and book procedures as required Ensure the appointment letters are emailed or sent to patients on a daily basis To telephone patients with urgent appointment details To ensure the procedure list of Inductions of Labour and the Elective surgery List, in the form of a database. To be able to add daily surgery information on the theatre list using the EPIC system To liaise appropriately with the Labour ward Consultant team to ensure the list is fit for purpose and safe Email the procedure list is sent each evening for next day surgery, to the Consultant, Labour ward and Postnatal Midwives and the Telephone Assessment line team Obtain Consultants rota to ensure the list is sent to the covering consultant on the day To check on a daily basis for women that have delivered before due date and remove from theatre and procedure lists To book patients into the Iron Infusion clinic and ensure the service is efficiently used by optimising appointment times. To collect and create Buff notes for expected booked procedures To liaise with other departments when booking appointments; Maternal assessment unit, Blood Pressure Clinic and Harris Birth Right and Neonatal team, to ensure the patients receive the appropriate care To keep Telephone Assessment Line informed if there are any late additions or changes to the procedure list To provide cover for Maternity Ward reception areas when needed; Breaks, Sickness & Annual Leave
