Teaching Personnel are seeking a Maths Teacher to join an excellent Catholic secondary school within Newport. 

This is a fantastic opportuity to join a popular and thriving secondary school on a 1 year temporary contract. 

This contract is to start 2nd September 2024 and will be one year until August 2025.

This position is a full time teaching position. This role would be suitable for both newly qualified and experienced candidates.

You should be an inspirational teacher with a passion for teaching and learning. Committed to supporting and raising the aspirations of every student. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent subject knowledge, a visible passion for their Area of Learning and Experience, whilst being actively committed to building strong relationships with students, staff and the wider community that we serve.

 

About the School:

 

The school you will be joining is a Catholic Voluntary Aided School for girls and boys aged 11-18 years in the Archiocese of Cardiff. It was established to provide secondary education for the Catholic population of Newport, Caldicot and Chepstow. Since then it has flourished with over 1400 students on roll, including 300 students in the Sixth Form.

 

The school is sited in a new building completed in September 2004, that incorporates many exciting features including interactive technology being available in all classrooms, purpose-built suites for Science, Technology, Computer Science, Drama, Art and Music as well as a well resourced library, Sixth Form study area and a Sixth Form social area.

 

The school has sustained a record of excellent performances in examinations, and is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Teacher of Mathematics committed to raising the attainment and aspirations of it's students.

 

 The right candidate will have:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant specialist qualifications and experience (e.g BSc in Mathematics or related degree)
  • Ability to deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons covering a range of modules and concepts
  • A good understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements for Mathematics
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning to ensure all learners progress and achieve to a high standard in preparation for examinations
