Job summary
Youwill be a highly motivated forward-thinking professional who can demonstratethe ability to lead and support staff in a proactive and effective way. Youwill be expected to lead by example, providing evidence based care to thepatients within the ward. As the regional MI centre for Worcestershire andHerefordshire, the Cardiology unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital providesangiography and angioplasty as well as a 24/7 PPCI service. In addition to thistemporary and permanent pacing and a complex device service is also based onsite.
Main duties of the job
Toactively promote the development of evidence based practice.
To maintain a high profile within the specialty havingdirect clinical
involvement.
To develop and encourage innovation in nursing practicewithin the
specialty.
To identify "best practice" from availableliterature and disseminate throughout the Unit.
Highlight areas for change as a result of research oraudit and in conjunction with Ward Manager/Sister act as a change agent.
To assist in the implementation of mentorship,preceptorship and clinical supervision.
Carry out all nursing procedures according toWorcestershire Acute
Hospitals NHS Trust.

Job responsibilities
To provide, by example,an effective leadership function.
Maintain good communications and working relationshipswith all members of the health care team.
To ensure efficient and effective use of manpower andresources.
To ensure every member of staff complies with all relevantpolicies and procedures during their span of duty.
To maintain confidentiality at all times.
Report any accidents/untoward incidents topatients/self/visitors and other staff and completion of appropriatedocumentation.
Ensure maintenance and working efficiency of equipment inconjunction with service departments and participate in the introduction of newequipment.
Be fully aware of all relevant Trust Policies andProcedures, Fire and Major Emergency.
To act on behalf of the responsible officer for thecompliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act.
Person Specification
Experience
Essential
Recent acute cardiac experience. Ability to manage own workload and delegate appropriately.
Desirable
ITU/HDU experience. Acute General Medicine. Experience within cardiac catheterisation.
Qualifications
Essential
First Level Registration Evidence of professional Development. Evidence of management experience/ training. Team Leadership. Cardiac Practice/ Critical Care pathway or equivalent Mentorship for assessment or equivalent
Desirable
Previous experience within a band 6. Counselling course. Advanced Life Support-
