Job summary

The Hospice Inpatient Clinical Lead (Band 7) role provides Senior Clinical Leadership for the Inpatient Hospice Care Team. This role will lead, and have responsibility for clinical delivery of safe, effective and high-quality care through teaching, training, auditing, reviewing, change management, supporting and coaching.

We are looking for an experienced nurse who has the knowledge, skill and vision to take the lead and responsibility for safe, effective, and high-quality care within the inpatient care team. This is a senior clinical role in which the post holder will ensure we continue to grow and improve, whilst always maintaining safe and effective at the centre of all we do. CQC compliance is a key aspect of this role.

This role is full time, to be worked flexibly across a minimum 4 days.

We recognise that working in a Childrens hospice is very different to that of the NHS and sometimes applicants are not sure which role best suits their experience. We hold Claire House values central to our recruitment process. Therefore, we welcome applicants to spend time at Claire House ahead of the interview. This consists of; having a tour of the hospice, spending time with a mix of hospice staff to find out more about the role, and having time to ask questions in a more relaxed environment.

Main duties of the job

Main Purpose of Job

To take the clinical lead role and responsibility for the 24/7 clinical delivery of safe and effective care within the hospice, to ensure that all children, young people and their families receive high quality and effective evidence based palliative and end of life care.

The post holder will have a shared role with the Hospice Inpatient Manager to lead, manage and develop the in-house care team acting as a positive role model to foster and embed a motivating and positive culture in line with the organisational values.

Ensure that each child has their individual needs assessed and their care is planned, implemented and evaluated in negotiation with the family and child/ young person where appropriate & that this is accurately documented and up to date
