Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a health care assistant to join a team of experienced nurses working on one of our busy Care of the elderly and rehabilitation wards. We are looking for individuals with the relevant skills, a caring attitude and individuals who strive to provide high standards of care to all patients.

Main duties of the job

- To undertake personal care duties for patients in hospital.- To support all members of the MDT to deliver high quality, safe patient care.- To ensure a safe working environment.- To assist the registered staff to care for patients

About us

Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.

Job responsibilities

- Communicates information to staff, patients, relatives and carers.- Communicates information in an empathetic and reassuring way where there may be barriers to communication/understanding speech/language/hearing difficulties.- Communicates with patients, clients, relatives and staff whose first language may not be English.- Is able to communicate effectively using written and oral skills.- Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, relatives andcolleagues.- Provide and receive routine information requiring tact or persuasive skills; barriers to understanding.- Exchanges factual information with patients using persuasion, reassurance, tact, empathy, may overcome barriers to understanding patient has physical or mental disabilities.
