We are looking to recruit a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team, we welcome interest from those already qualified or those who are interested in undertaking the necessary training whilst in post to complete the qualification.

Qualified applicants will hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Therapies

We are looking to recruit a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team

Qualified applicants will hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Therapies

You will work as part of a diverse and supportive team of Psychological Therapists, PWPs, nurses, psychologists, and psychiatrists. We are able offer our team members the opportunity to continue to develop their expertise via training and development opportunities in different parts of our service.

We will consider applicants for a trainee position .

Our secure services form part of a wide and growing body of clinical services operating in a variety of settings linked to criminal justice services. This is not a standalone role, as part of the wider NSFT Secure Services Psychology Team you will receive excellent clinical supervision alongside professional and governance support.

Job responsibilities

We are looking for a qualified or Trainee PWP who has knowledge and experience of working within busy and challenging environments such as community wellbeing services or secure environments and working with people who present with a range of common mental health difficulties, including depression and anxiety.

The successful applicant will work autonomously and provide direct interventions to a defined caseload of service users operating within recognised professional guidelines. Qualified PWP's will usually undertake 5 contacts to provide assessments and interventions a day with residents of the prisons. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of a Psychological Therapist and report directly to the Senior PWP.

Experience

Essential

Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of mental health practice from previous experience Skills in effective risk assessment and risk management Experience in the delivery of evidence based step 2 interventions

Desirable

Evidence of working in the local community Experience of delivering training and developing others

Qualifications

Essential

Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification OR Experienced and Qualified Graduate Mental Health Worker with relevant experiences and competencies as required

Desirable

Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy. A qualification in provision of supervision

Skills

Essential

Responding flexibly and appropriately to unforeseen circumstances Using clinical supervision and opportunities for personal development positively and effectively Competent assessments Basic IT, including use of email/internet

Knowledge

Essential

Mental health/mental Illness Evidence based step-2 interventions

Desirable

Awareness of serious mental health presentations (psychosis, bi-polar) Effects of drug and alcohol use on mental health
