The Role:
  • Cover Supervisor: Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task and complete pre-set work. Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
  • HLTA Responsibilities: Support the English department by assisting in the planning and delivery of lessons, working with small groups or individual students to provide targeted support, and helping to differentiate tasks to meet varying student needs.
  • Student Engagement: Foster a supportive and engaging classroom atmosphere, encouraging student participation and learning.
  • Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and career progression.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • English Graduate: Recent graduate with a degree in English or a related field.
  • Passion for Education: Strong interest in teaching and supporting student learning.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Classroom Management: Confidence in managing student behaviour and creating a productive learning environment.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and able to adapt to different classroom settings and student needs.
  • DBS Certificate: Holds a valid DBS certificate or is willing to apply for one.
