A specialist autismschool in ClactononSea is seeking a compassionate and dedicatedLearning Support Assistant to jointheir team. In this fulltime role you will play a crucial part increating structured and calming environments that enable studentswith autism to thrive both academically and socially. Your supportwill be instrumental in fostering a positive learning atmospherewhere every student can reach their fullpotential.

RoleHighlights

  • Fulltimeposition in a dedicated autismfocused setting thatprioritizes the unique needs of students with autism spectrumconditions
  • Collaborate closely with experiencedSEN staff to design and implement personalized learning planstailored to each students strengths interests and developmentalgoals
  • Provide oneonone and small group supportto students helping them engage with the curriculum and developessential life skills
  • Assist in the creation ofa structured calming classroom environment that promotes focusreduces anxiety and encourages positive social interactions amongstudents
  • Participate in regular training andprofessional development opportunities to enhance your knowledgeand skills in autism support and best practices in specialeducation
  • Engage with parents and caregivers toshare insights and strategies for supporting student development athome fostering a strong homeschoolpartnership

Experience&Qualifications

  • Priorexperience in autism support special educational needs (SEN) orrelated fields is preferred although candidates with a stronginterest in supporting students with autism will also beconsidered
  • Strong organizational skills and theability to implement structured routines that benefit students withvarying needs
  • A patient empathetic and flexibleapproach to working with students understanding the importance ofadapting to individual learning styles andchallenges
  • Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with teacherssupport staff and families
  • A current and clearEnhanced DBS check is essential toensure the safety and wellbeing of allstudents
