Job summary

The Surgery Team Leaders lead ournon-clinical Surgery teams, ensuring a high-quality service is provided topatients, and providing compassionate leadership for all Surgery staff.

The postholder will be required to ensure all operational aspects of the site arerunning smoothly on a daily basis. Any issues will need to be resolved in atimely manner, ensuring effective communication with the management team.

Working Pattern:

Monday: 08:00 - 14:00

Wednesday: 08:00 - 14:00

Thursday: 12:30 - 18:30

Friday: 08:00 - 14:00

Total Hours: 24 hours

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with other Surgery Team Leaders as well asclinical staff, to take ownership of routine Surgery site operations and liaisewith the wider Management Team and Executive Team as required for escalation ofany issues that cannot be dealt with locally.

In agreement with your peers, you will work either at a dedicatedsite or in a floating/cover role across sites.

Job responsibilities

To manage Surgery staff on site,including all first-line HR responsibilities, such as coordinating rotas andtraining, supporting staff with welfare needs and absence management.

To be accountable for the deliveryof services by Patient Service Clerk (PSC) and Patient Administration staff onsite, supporting them to take ownership of all appropriate Surgery-relatedtasks and queries in line with agreed policies and processes. Where required,to also carry out PSC and Patient Administration duties where demand requiresit.

To manage local aspects of theclinical system (SystmOne) including appointment templates, and monitoringclinician leave to ensure appointment availability is up-to-date at all times.

To support or co-ordinate otheraspects of the individual Surgery operation, including Health and Safety (viathe H+S Leads), Fire Safety, internal room usage, furniture and equipmentmaintenance and stock levels, ensuring the site remains fit for purpose andliaising with appropriate colleagues where this is not the case.

To facilitate an effective channelof information from Management or Executive Teams to all staff on site and viceversa.

To work closely with other SurgeryTeam Leaders to ensure a consistent, high quality service delivery to all AdamPractice patients irrespective of site.

To seek out opportunities toimprove Surgery site operations, making local changes where appropriate orescalating to appropriate Management Team colleagues for further consideration.

To lead and support staff inresolving local complaints informally and at the earliest possible opportunity.Where required, support formal complaint investigations and responses inconjunction with the Complaints Manager and Group Operations Manager.

To monitor the quality andeffectiveness of all aspects of Surgery operations, performing reports andaudits to identify opportunities for improvement.

To lead on the local Surgeryimplementation of new or updated services and processes, and the planning andcascading of training to all staff.

To help maintain a QualityImprovement culture across the Practice, leading by example.

To demonstrate and uphold thePractice Values at all times.
