SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary)

Location: Lincoln
Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day

GSL Education are excited to announce an opening for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join primary schools in Lincoln, available to start immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young learners with special educational needs. In this role as SEN Teaching Assistant, you will have the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of primary students, helping them navigate their educational journey and achieve their personal best.

Responsibilities:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, including those with SEMH, ADHD, and other additional needs.
  • Assisting teachers in planning and implementing lesson adaptations to cater to the diverse learning styles of students.
  • Helping Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students with foundational tasks such as reading, writing, and numeracy, providing extra support to ensure their early academic development.
  • Supporting students in developing essential academic and social skills, fostering their independence and confidence.
  • Collaborating closely with classroom teachers and SENCOs to monitor student progress and contribute to their learning plans.
  • Managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive, inclusive atmosphere for all students.
  • Ensuring the continuity of learning by stepping in to support classroom activities during teacher absence.

Job Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary, you will need:

  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance
  • A degree in Education, Psychology, or a relevant field is advantageous.
  • Experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a Primary settingis essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a nurturing and patient approach.
  • The ability to adapt to the individual needs of students while working collaboratively with teaching staff.
