MacArthurRecruitment are looking for an experienced Head ofBusiness Development to work for a successful companybased in Carlisle who are involved with engineering andconstruction projects nationally. This is a remote role workingfrom a home office. Realistically you could be based anywhere fromthe Midlands to the North West or North East of England travellingto clients and head office as required. Package is flexible andnegotiable.

AsHead of Business Development you ll take ownership of drivingforward business development activity and sales projects in the UKand Europe; identifying new business improve profitability and helpthe business grow as well as motivating and inspiring the salesteam.

Yourbackground will be from either construction engineering or similarand you ll be experienced working with architects consultantsconstruction contractors as well as internally as part of theSenior Management Team. You will have a proven record of hittingtargets and will be joining a small and passionate team who arehappy to help each other out so you must have a sense of humour bepersonable and accept that things won t always go toplan

Keyresponsibilities for the role of Head of Business Development:
  • Todevelop the business and its brand recognition across the UK andEurope
  • Researchand identify newbusiness
  • Buildand maintain strongrelationships
  • Workstrategically develop and implement the business sales andmarketingstrategy
  • Leadmotivate and inspire the small UK sales and marketing team toachievetargets
  • Continueto build fruitful and lastingrelationships
  • Developlocalpartnerships
  • Analysemarket trends and competitivelandscape
  • Recommendpricing policy based on competitive advantage and updated knowledgeof the marketplace.
  • Collaboratewith crossfunctionalteams
  • Representthe company at industry events conferences and tradeshows
  • Prepareand present to senior management board members and prospectiveclients
  • Monitorand evaluate business development activities track progress againsttargets and adjust strategies asneeded.
  • Stayinformed about industry regulations standards and bestpractices
  • Leadcustomer negotiations with clearcommunication
  • Takea proactive approach to courtesy calling to ensure they are happywith theproduct.
  • Providevaluable contribution to the defining of sales budgets volume andpricing forecasts producing annual sales forecasts to assist withcommercialplanning.
  • Prepareaccurate sitesurveys.

Educationor qualifications for the role of Head of Business Development:
  • ABachelor s Degree in a relevant area e.g. Business Marketing CivilEngineering Mechanical Engineeringdesirable

Experienceand skills required for the role of Head of Business Development:
  • Aproven track record of business development within the constructionindustry and an ability to sell highly technical products withexperience of working with architects and consultants in order tobe successfullyspecified.
  • Familiaritywith building layout drawings and technical specificationdocuments
  • Anetwork of contacts in our target markets e.g. leading architectsand design constructionconsultants
  • Aproactive approach and be selfmotivated to achieve sales targetsandobjectives
  • Abilityto develop rapport and professional relationships with managersstaff and externalparties.
  • Attentionto detail and strong organisationskills.
