British American Tobacco UK has an exciting opportunity for a Flavour Laboratory Technician in Southampton

The role is responsible to provide technical support to the BAT group around Casing and Flavours and their use in combustible and new categories products. Support coordinating internal and external projects, support modification and adjustments of casing and flavours based on market needs and support innovation in the Flavour Centre of Excellence.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Being responsible for the preparation and shipment of development samples for evaluation by partners. Provide Casing and Flavour samples for prototype manufacture and seminars. Supporting the maintenance of Casing and Flavour formulations and specifications within the Casing and Flavour development database and production systems. Supporting the development of technical solutions for Casing and Flavour recipes that require minor modifications to ensure rapid response to global and regional Flavour initiatives. Supporting Casing/Flavour initiatives related to BAT´s efficiency, cost savings and harmonization programs. Assisting the Flavourist’s by compounding Casing & Flavour formulations for developments purposes, adhering to BAT guidelines.

What are we looking for?

Relevant industrial / laboratory work experience and must be able to demonstrate that experience. Good interpersonal and communication skills and to be able to work with a variety of partners. Base project management skills with the ability to plan and support the management of multiple projects across functional levels. Good level of Odour recognition skills Support the technical working relationship with the Flavour Centre of Excellence collaborators.
