Job summary

Psychological therapy services across BDCFT are eager to recruit an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant Psychologist to support the delivery of high-quality services across the Trust.

The current vacancy benefit from being part of our assistant psychology rotation which aims to support Assistant Psychologists to gain a breadth of experience by working into different service areas across time (rotating yearly or every 2 years depending on the needs of the specific service with which you commence your employment). The post holder(s) will need to work fulltime to be part of the Assistant Psychologist rotation in BDCFT.

The current available position is in community adult mental health and the successful applicant will be part of well established Multi Disciplinary Team and supervised by a qualified Clinical Psychologist.

Main duties of the job

All Assistant Psychologists working in BDCFT are supported via induction, clinical supervision with a HCPC Practitioner Psychologist plus other psychological therapists (to ensure breadth of experience), and ongoing CPD to develop knowledge and skills commensurate with the requirements of their post; typically neuropsychological assessment and intervention skills, psychological skills work with individuals and in groups and service support with audit and research initiatives.

Essential

Undergraduate degree in psychology (or combine degree with significant psychology component) - 2i and above Eligible for graduate membership of the BPS

Experience

Essential

Experience of working in health setting with people experiencing mental health difficulties or learning disailities Experience of service evaluation, audit or research

Desirable

Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team Experience of working with groups of people Experience of neuropsychological assessment and intervention

Knowledge

Essential

Knowledge pertaining to mental health problems or learning disabilities Understanding of research, service evaluation and audit methodolgies
