Job overview

Are you a registered nurse, looking to work with children, young people and their families in the community, as part of anew team delivering high quality care in line with the Healthy Child Programme 5-19yrs?

We are offering a part-time, term-time only position in Didcot for 30 hours per week. In this role, you will enhance your knowledge and skills by collaborating with experienced professionals across various environments, including primary and secondary schools, health centres, and patients' homes. Responsibilities include supporting school-aged children with health needs, in areas such as safeguarding, emotional, sexual, and physical health. You will also work in schools assistingin delivering personal, health, and social education and overseeing the management of medical conditions within schools, for example children with severe allergies or epilepsy.

Main duties of the job

Within the caseload, and as delegated by the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse the post holder will contribute to the safe and effective delivery of the 0-19 service. 

You will be based within the locality and will work with the 0-19 teams in that locality and supporting l0cality wide work where needed for school aged children and young people. The role involves working in partnership with children, young people, families, primary care, schools and statutory and voluntary services and other partner agencies to facilitate health-enhancing activities and improve health outcomes.

You will deliver services to children and families within schools and community settings. 

The role includes undertaking Healthy Child Programme transitional assessments and planning, delivering and evaluating public health initiatives through school and community-based health promotion activities. 

The role will require the post holder to adhere to Safeguarding policies and actively engage under the supervision from a SCPHN in safeguarding processes and meetings.

You will work in partnership with other agencies and develop, participate and maintain interagency networks.
