Therole

We are looking for an experienced financial controllerto implement and manage the financial strategy supportingsustainable growth whilst promoting a strong control environmentwithin the finance and procurementteams.


As Head of Finance you will lead by exampledemonstrating strong financial management skills and providingkey leadership and support to the finance and procurement teamsensure all line management responsibilities are fulfilled andencouraging continuous development to create a strong teamethos.

An ideaof what youll bedoing:


  • Ensure a strong control environmentleading to accurate and timely preparation and completion ofcompany records and statutory accounts and for the protection ofcompanyassets.
  • Responsible for the monthlymanagement accounts including the financial management of allongoing projects and the associated revenue and costrecognition
  • Lead the quarterly forecastand annual budgeting process monitoring performance compilingannual budget reports and providing recommendations for costoptimisation.
  • Responsibility for allfinancial audits including the annual statutory audit and 6 monthlybank audits.
  • Oversee sustainable cash flow management supporting theteam in managing short and medium term cash flows and reviewingcredit control procedures are appropriate; including associatedweekly reporting to theBoard.
  • Oversee monthly balance sheetreconciliation identifying and promptly clearing reconcilingitems

  • Lead financial analysisthrough partnering with heads of department to review varianceanalysis assess financial models and provide financial insights tosupportdecisionmaking.
  • Deliver weekly monthly andquarterly reporting packs for the board including reporting risksand opportunities and maintaining the Company s RiskRegister
  • Maintaining and maximisingour Invoice Financing Facility with ourfunders.


Requirements

When you join us you will go through ourtopnotch induction and onboarding process and have opportunities todevelop further through our in house trainingacademy.

Youllhave a proven track recordof:

  • Creatingdeveloping and leading the financial strategy; including managementof year end audits preparation of quarterly forecasts andmanagement of cost controls that support short and longtermfinancial planning.

  • Lead the financial aspects of CVR reviews with projectmanagers to ensure each project maintains it s margin challengingwhere projects start to slip and ensuring strong actions areagreed

  • Optimise performance andcosteffectiveness through setting and monitoring team KPIs inalignment with business wideobjectives.

Youll already have experience &qualifications in:

  • Good understanding of the constructionindustry working with project based accounting
  • Experience ofpreparing monthly management accounts
  • Proven stronganalytical experience with responsibility for the businessforecasting and annual budgetary processes
  • Experience ofmanaging a balance sheet
  • Experience in stakeholdermanagement
  • Qualified accountant (ACA CIMA ACCA) with 34 years postqualified experience
  • Qualification in Excel or demonstrative skills to ahigh level

Experience ofmanaging a people, with track record of developing people andcreating a strong team ethos. Good understanding of theconstruction industry, working with project based accounting.Experience of preparing monthly management accounts. Proven stronganalytical experience, with responsibility for the businessforecasting and annual budgetary processes. Experience of managinga balance sheet. Experience in stakeholder management.
