Exciting Opportunity: Experienced SEN Teacher Needed in Sunderland

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teacher to support students at a SEN school in Sunderland. This full-time position is available immediately (subject to valid DBS check), and we welcome applications from both experienced teachers and those new to SEND.

The Role:
  • Design, deliver, and evaluate tailored lessons based on the National Curriculum to meet the individual needs of SEND pupils.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals and provide guidance to Teaching Assistants as needed.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Prior experience teaching children with various SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and Physical Disabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • An empathetic and calm demeanour to support students effectively.
  • Enthusiasm for becoming an integral part of the school community and making a positive impact on students' lives.
  • Prior experience with SEND interventions is desirable.
Requirements:
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Availability to work full-time, five days a week.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
