If you are somebody already employed in education looking to take a step up to a more hands on role, or somebody coming from another relevant sector looking to enter the world of education, this role may be exactly what you’re looking for
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with ADHD, Autism and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis or within a small classroom environment.
- Keep accurate records of the student's progress and contribute to the assessment and evaluation process.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social and emotional development of children.
- Be able to provide 1:1 support to the pupils within the class.
- Br able to provide support to a small group of children.
- On the job training through the school, helping you better understand the schools aims and culture.
The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following:
- Have experience working with Children/adults with Special Educational Needs.
- Have an understanding how children learn most effectively.
- Be a team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Be patient, have a caring nature, be understanding, positive and supportive attitude.
- Have high expectations of the children's achievement and behaviour.
- Have good Literacy, Numeracy, and communication skills.
- Driver with access to own vehicle (Essential)
- Ideally you will have previous experience working with children/adults with learning difficulties or working with individuals with varied challenging behaviours and personal care requirements.
- Be registered (or willing to register) with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Be registered (or willing to register) with the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS)
