Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work with a fantastic school in Pembroke.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant through Teaching Personnel, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them access the curriculum effectively. Working closely with the class teacher, you will provide both in-class and one-to-one support, ensuring that all students can reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with a range of learning needs, including those with SEN and additional support requirements.
  • Provide individual or small group support both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Help students with tasks, organization, and emotional or behavioural support.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement tailored learning plans for students.
  • Support students in developing key skills in literacy, numeracy, and social interaction.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in educational settings, is highly desirable but not essential.
  • A positive, patient, and proactive attitude towards working with students with a variety of learning needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, staff, and parents.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the individual needs of each student.
  • A current DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Previous experience working with students with Autism, ADHD, or other SEN is a plus.
