Senior Design Engineer - Exteriors

Forseven, a revolutionary company looking to transform the EV industry through cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering practices, are seeking an exceptional Project Engineer in Exteriors to join our highly skills and dynamic Engineering team.  

This pivotal role will operate in a hybrid capacity out of one of our offices near Warwick or Bicester where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.

The Opportunity:

In this role, you'll have ownership of the design process for responsible components within exterior systems, leading the way in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) practices to ensure optimal efficiency and quality. You'll be the driving force behind exterior system design and attribute delivery, collaborating closely with Principal Engineers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals.

What you’ll do:

 

  • Responsible for Design for manufacture and assembly for responsible components.
  • Own the exterior systems and attribute delivery.
  • Report to Principal Engineers responsible for the relevant commodities.
  • Prepares full project documents.
  • Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials or products.
  • Engineering responsibility (including design and release) of full systems, including some but not all of: Bumpers, Exterior Trim, Body Panels, Accessories, Mirrors, Glazing, Washer and Wiper Systems
  • Ensuring responsible designs meet legal compliance.
  • Identify and highlight any areas for continuous improvement.
  • Guide other CAD engineers in design standards and engineering practices.
