Location: East Devon
Contract: Flexible (long-term, permanent opportunities also available)
Salary: £105 - £120 per day (depending on working hours and experience)

Long-Term Teachers are recruiting a dedicated and learning mentor to work with post-16 students who have educational health and care plans (EHCPs). This rewarding role offers the chance to make a real difference by helping young people achieve greater independence and build brighter futures.
About the role:
As a learning mentor, you’ll work closely with students in diverse community settings, including learning hubs, libraries, workplaces and leisure facilities. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students to develop practical life skills tailored to their individual needs
- Delivering accredited learning based on a personalised curriculum
- Assessing student progress and celebrating their achievements
- Travelling alongside students to various community-based locations, ensuring their learning takes place in meaningful, real-world environments
The ideal candidate:
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- A passion for working with young people and supporting their development
- Previous experience working with young people in the UK is essential
- Experience working with special educational needs would be advantageous
- Flexibility to travel between community locations
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confident in working with and taking students off-site to a range of settings
- Able to drive and have access to your own car (you will need to get business insurance for this role)
You will be working Monday to Friday, 9am - 4:30pm, term time only.
