Are you looking for a new opportunity to lead a team and influence the future provision of Oncology services within Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust? An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a permanent WTE Highly Specialist Oncology Dietitian at the City campus
The successful candidate will have a clinical leadership role within the General Oncology Team, including development and supporting the current Specialist Dietitians working within the general Oncology pathways(which provides outpatient and inpatient Oncology services at the City campus). You will hold a clinicalcaseload, which will include a variety of specialist oncology patients as well as being involved in developing new patient pathways (including Prehabilitation services). We are looking for an experienced, proactive dietitian with excellent communication, team-working and leadership skills.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will lead the dietetic service for patients within the General Oncology pathways providing dietetic advice and treatment to a shared caseload of inpatient and outpatients with cancer diagnosis (including, but not limited to Gynae-Oncology, HPB and Lung as well as other areas). You will be involved with radiotherapy clinics, Dietetic Led telephone clinics as well as training and education for patients and healthcare professionals within the service. The dietetic team have become established as core members of the multi-disciplinary team working collaboratively with consultants and specialist nurses to deliver high quality nutritional care to patients.
You will work closely with the Dietetic Team Leaders as well as other leads and specialist Dietitians within the Upper GI Oncology, Head & Neck Oncology & Haematology services to develop and improve patient care. As a Highly Specialist Oncology Dietitian you will support operational leadership within the General Oncology team to ensure effective and efficient service delivery, promote staff development and wellbeing, as well as providing expert knowledge and support for dietetic colleagues and for the management team.
This job will require working with inpatients therefore you will be required to wear the appropriate level of PPE.
