Job summary
The post holder will support the ward manager in implementing education, training and development strategiesthroughout the directorate/division/area for all staff groups. The post holder must ensure the delivery of educationand training to support evidenced based care within the ward area. S/he will contribute to the improvement ofstandards to care through the development of the newly qualified workforce, working one day a week to support Improvement work on the unit and participating in audit and research.Teaching and supporting colleagues and the provision of effective leadership. In conjunction with the WardManager, S/he will ensure that the workforce is fit for purpose in terms of their roles and that individual/rolecompetencies are reviewed to provide a safe, high quality and efficient service. As directed by the WardManager/Modern Matron S/he may lead for the Directorate/Area the delivery of mandatory training, preceptorshipand continuing professional development. S/he will contribute to the Trust education and developmentstrategies, leading projects as designated by the Ward manager/ Modern Matron.
Main duties of the job
Implement education, training and development strategiesthroughout the area for all staff groups. Work closely with the RMCH education team and support them in implementing and training staff within the trust. To continue to improve their own Knowledge within the specialty to ensure they are using evidence based knowledge to train and educate all staff groups. Lead role in Improving patient Experience on the ward and support others to develop changes on the unit and collate data on these.
