The role
The Open University (OU) is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Nursing (Children and Young People, or Mental Health) to join the School of Health Wellbeing and Social Care. Key responsibilities will include engagement in the delivery of teaching and learning in nursing.
The successful applicant will work predominantly within the undergraduate nursing team to contribute to the delivery of production and presentation within the nursing curricula and support teaching and learning in nurse practice education. Applicants should, therefore, have relevant qualifications and experience demonstrating education in Nursing. Applicants are expected to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of NMC regulatory standards and experience bringing innovation and creativity into their teaching.
Full time starting salary is £45,585 to £46,974 per annum, with potential progression when in post to £54,395 per annum.
Internal candidates already within the salary banding will remain on their current spinal point as per policy.
Skills and experience
A Masters degree or equivalent is essential Evidence of current registration with the NMC A post-graduate teaching qualification and/or membership of the Higher Education Academy Evidence of relevant continuing professional development Experience of working within Higher Education or in an education role An understanding of policy and practice issues facing Nursing from a UK-wide perspective A strong record of research and/or knowledge exchange that is commensurate to the position.
