The role
As a Modelling and Simulation Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be involved in the development of a suite of domain models such as performance models, satellite models, network simulation models, and threat models.

Day-to-day, you’ll maintain the model management plan in consultation with the Modelling and Simulation Lead whilst developing and maintaining relevant models within the system tool kit.

Ensuring satellite communications systems and networks are represented to an appropriate level of fidelity and interfacing with design and Implementation Engineers and Subject Matter Experts to ensure validity of developed domain specific models. Executing dynamic modelling using customer provided scenarios and documenting results, whilst establishing interoperability between domain specific models, architecture models and requirements. Contributing to stakeholder meetings, governance forums, design reviews and readiness assessment activities where domain models are a key part of assurance activities. Applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to the development, maintainability and traceability for the models through the life cycle.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2-3 days in the office/onsite and 2-3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Modelling and Simulation Engineer:

Ability to develop domain specific models and simulations from first principles. Ability to conduct model verification and validation. Ability to apply change and configuration control to modelling and simulation.

Qualifications for the Modelling and Simulation Engineer:

Degree or equivalent in Physics, Maths, Computer Science or Engineering. HNC/HND with equivalent, relevant experience is valued and welcomed.
