We offer a hybrid working arrangement with 2 or 3 days working from the office in Manchester, and 2 or 3 days from home.

About the role

As a Payroll Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

To work alongside our payroll providers to ensure the timely and accurate completion of the monthly payrolls, ensuring that processes are adhered to and accuracy of payroll data is certified; working to tight deadlines and challenging SLAs Delivery of an efficient and effective payroll service, ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time Respond to Payroll queries through our Query Management System, ensuring timely and accurate resolution, with professionalism and quality maintained throughout all activity Process starters, leavers, absences, monthly changes, and calculate payments such as overtime, statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, Pensions and other adjustments. To liaise closely with colleagues in the finance department, ensuring that monthly reconciliations for budget purposes are undertaken To produce detailed management reports as required by the Senior Management team across DWF Recommend improvements to process and service, support implementation of improvements Support any ad-hoc projects as required

About you

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Extensive experience of processing payrolls in a medium to large organisation Full understanding of PAYE, National Insurance, Taxable Benefits, Auto Enrolment & HMRC reconciliations Passionate to provide high quality customer service Self-motivated, flexible and demonstrating strong evidence of a collaborative working style Proficient in using Microsoft Excel Some knowledge of international payrolls would be advantageous but is not essential
