At Prestwick Service Centre we are specialists in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft engine nacelles systems and engine components. An opportunity has arisen for Mechanic Inspectors to work within our Operational Business Units.

We require experienced individuals who will contribute to our success, whilst upholding our reputation as a leading provider of quality MRO services with our European and Middle Eastern customers.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out complex tasks which include disassemble, repair, and assembly of aircraft nacelle components.

The ability to read and interpret technical data (specified manuals, service bulletins/ airworthiness directives, and engineering drawings or instructions)

Compliance to required quality, safety and EHS regulations

Identifying and implementing process improvements

Candidate Requirements

Essentials

Time served in a relevant discipline (with trade papers or an equivalent mechanical qualification)

Good hands skills through experience working in a mechanical or engineering discipline.

Taking ownership and accountability to work independently, as part of a team, and communicate priorities as required.

Excellent communication skills

Candidates will be required to demonstrate numerical, literacy and computer literacy skills.

Compliance with all Collins Aerospace policies and procedures inclusive of EH&S, Code of Ethics, Intellectual Property, and ITC requirements

Desirable

Previous experience in aviation maintenance repair and overhaul environment would be highly beneficial but not essential.

Experience of aircraft composite structures and repairs would be highly beneficial.

Experience of fastener removal and installation would be highly beneficial

Experience of engine build up including the use of calibrated measurement equipment, and torquing applications would be highly beneficial

SAP experience (or similar operating systems) would be advantageous although not essential

An understanding of the principles of Lean/Continuous Improvement would be advantageous.

The role requires flexibility in rapidly evolving global aviation market. Dayshift/back-shift rotation will be required in the role (with associated competitive premiums) and will be complemented with a comprehensive training working within a culture based on positive assumptions that supports personal growth and development.
